Experiencing diversity in practice

Welcome and thank you for taking part in this study.

The aim of the survey is to gain a better understanding of how the population of Esslingen puts social diversity into practice and what experiences they have of it in everyday life – in both positive and challenging ways. Diversity enriches our town, but we know that not everyone has the same opportunities and conditions. Discrimination can occur in a wide range of areas and for very different reasons and may be experienced individually. Discrimination refers to the experience of unequal treatment without objective reason on the basis of certain (actual or assumed) characteristics (e.g. skin colour, gender, regional dialect, sexual orientation, etc.).

Your opinions and experiences help us to identify the areas of life in which discrimination occurs, the way in which it is perceived and the impact it has on those affected. In order to gain a comprehensive picture of the situation in Esslingen, we have developed a short questionnaire.

By taking part, you are making an important contribution to a society in which diversity is valued and all people are given equal opportunities. Thank you for your support!
